This qualification enables learners to use a range of skills and techniques to produce art and craft works. Students have the ability to select, adapt and transfer skills to different situations. Cultural knowledge necessary to achieve some of the units of competency and this qualification may only be accessible to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people. Course details

Entry requirements

Students must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. Students should also have the language, literacy and numeracy skills to study at Certificate III level with reasonable support.

Resources required

No specific resources are required to successfully complete this course.

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

Timetable

This course is delivered full-time up to six months. Content delivered face-to-face over four two-week residential blocks. Students complete some assessment in own time. All students are required to attend all classes at specific times as indicated on timetables.

Payment Plan

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.

Subsidised

The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.

Certificate 3 Guarantee

You can receive a subsidy towards one certificate III qualification from a list of eligible courses. The amount provided depends on the demand for skilled workers in your chosen industry.

You're eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee if you:

  • Are 15 years or older and no longer in school
  • Live in Queensland full time
  • Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
  • And don't currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification.
