Important Information

For students wanting to obtain their food safety supervisor certificate:

Although SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety is not a pre-requisite for Food Safety Supervisor (SITXFSA002) under the National training package requirements, Queensland Health and local state Councils stipulate that students need to complete both units to obtain a food safety supervisor certificate.

If students have previously completed Food Hygiene (SITXFSA001) then a transfer credit can be issued. Proof of completion will need to be provided for transfer credit to be processed.

To gain the Skill Set SITSS00051, the unit SITXFSA001 needs to also be completed for $85 ($210 for the 2 units making up the Skill Set).

SITXFSA002 Participate in safe food handling practices Mandatory

Not all electives available at all campuses

Mt Isa campus: Students who need to attend the Food Handling/Hygiene course on Monday 12 June 2017 will also need to cover the $85.00 course fee.
