Entry requirements

A good knowledge of computer basics with a sound achievement in Year 10 Maths, and English is desirable.  All age applicants are welcome.

Timetable

Cairns campus: Students can commence anytime of the year.  Flexible delivery is offered Monday 8:30am - 12:50pm, Tuesday 8:30am - 12:50pm and Wednesday 8:30am - 12:50pm. For students who cannot attend these times an alternative class is offered Friday 9:00am - 12 noon.  Any new student must attend an interview with the teacher. Interviews are held every week on Wednesdays at 2:00pm in S Block.

Townsville (Pimlico):  Students can commence anytime of the year.  Part time 28 weeks alternative class is offered Friday 8.30 – 12.30 pm.

Orientation/Information session: Any new student must attend an interview with the teacher to determine study load and review recognition of prior learning. Interviews/orientation are held every week on Wednesdays at 1.30– 3.00 pm in F3.18 Pimlico, Townsville starting from 31 January 2018. No Orientations will be held during semester breaks: 2 April – 13 April; 2 July – 13 July; Sept – 5 Oct 2018. Telephone: 4750 5612 or 4570 5704 to book for the orientation.

Payment Plan

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.

Subsidised

The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.

Certificate 3 Guarantee

You can receive a subsidy towards one certificate III qualification from a list of eligible courses. The amount provided depends on the demand for skilled workers in your chosen industry.

You're eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee if you:

  • Are 15 years or older and no longer in school
  • Live in Queensland full time
  • Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
  • And don't currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification.

Recognition of prior learning
