Do you need your workplace trained in First Aid? Think TAFE Queensland!

TAFE Queensland offers flexible training options and will tailor delivery of our First Aid course to fulfil your staff training requirements - in our classrooms or at your workplace.

First Aid is the initial care of the sick or injured, until more advanced care can be provided. The aims of First Aid are to preserve life, protect the unconscious, prevent the condition from worsening, and promote recovery, to ensure a safe environment and to give reassurance to the sick or injured.

Our aim is for students to gain the confidence and skills to undertake the initial management of injuries and illnesses occurring within the workplace, home, recreational and remote settings. With enthusiasm and a true commitment to this subject, the First Aid teachers encourage a positive, competency based learning environment enhanced by a practical, hands-on approach.

No specific resources are required to successfully complete this course.

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.


All locations on demand, minimum student numbers may apply.

Cairns campus: Room G.218 from 8.30am - 12.00pm for one day classes; 8.30am - 12.00pm on day one and 8.30am - 5.00pm for two-day classes

Statement of Attainment for: Provide first aid (HLTAID003) or Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) only (HLTAID001) 

The outcome for these courses is to provide your participants with competencies suitable for the provision of appropriate First Aid management to casualties in given environments. Competency comprises the specification of the knowledge, skills and understanding and the application of that knowledge and skill to the standard of performance required of First Aid personnel.

A First Aid Certificate is valid for three years; CPR training will provide you with a Statement of Attainment which is valid for 12 months.
