If you are interested in Information Technology, but do not have a lot of experience in this area, then this is the course for you. Certificate II in Information, Digital Media & Technology provides a stepping stone in moving into the higher levels of Information Technology - Certificate III and Diploma.
This course caters to high school teachers who are teaching or will be teaching Certificate II in Information, Digital Media and Technology to their students and require a formal qualification. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for this course but consultation with the instructor is required to determine eligibility. Course details
A sound achievement in Year 10 Science, Maths, and English is desirable. Mature age applicants are welcome.
Students will need to demonstrate hardware skills preferably in front of the instructor. If this is not possible, students will need to discuss this part of the course with the instructor.
Study from any location
In order to complete this course, you will need a computer, tablet or phone and an Internet connection. To complete the software component, you will need MS Office 2010 or higher and the following applications - MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Access.
External: As this course is completed online, there is no strict timeline, just time frames for completion of the clusters that are part of this course. Your instructor will provide you with information about each cluster and the completion times.
Students need to successfully complete 14 units to gain the qualification; 7 core and 7 elective units.
If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.
The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.
Certificate 3 Guarantee
You can receive a subsidy towards one certificate III qualification from a list of eligible courses. The amount provided depends on the demand for skilled workers in your chosen industry.
You're eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee if you:
Are 15 years or older and no longer in school
Live in Queensland full time
Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
And don't currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification.
