This program is funded by Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ), there are a number of requirements that need to be met to access this funding. CSQ funded and subsidised courses are for existing, and eligible workers in the building and construction industry. Steel capped safety boots are required while engaged in work activities and while students are in designated areas of TAFE

A calculator, biros (preferably blue and black ink), pencils, eraser, whiteout (optional) and/or ruler
Ring binder folder/s and plastic sleeves or other types of folders to store own workbooks and other work.
Cairns Campus: Attending 2 days on campus; 8:30am - 4:00pm throughout the year; negotiated with teacher.
Townsville Trade Training Centre: 1 day theory workshop; 8:30am - 4:00pm. 40 logged hours must be gained prior to practical being completed within 3 months. Practical date to be negotiated with teacher.
Mount Isa: 1 day theory workshop; 8:30am - 4:00pm. 40 logged hours must be gained prior to practical being completed within 3 months. Practical date to be negotiated with teacher.
To be eligible for the forklift licence, participating students will be required to complete a log book and obtain a minimum of 40 logged forklift hours prior to completing their practical assessment.
The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.
You are eligible for the concession price of a course if you are eligible for subsidised training, and are listed on an Australian Government Low Income Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, if you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, you hold a Department of Veterans' Affairs Pensioner Concession Card, or if you have a disability.
