If you enjoy working within Visual Arts you will be able to put your talents to work with this formal qualification in Diploma of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Visual Arts Industry Work. The program covers content from Arts Industry, Community development and Business and finance of the nationally recognised Training Package.  Subjects are a combination of practical skills and the theory that supports them, with a focus on the development of workplace skills.  This program is very hands-on with a variety of activities.

Resources required

  • Covered shoes are required while engaged in work activities and while students are in designated areas of TAFE
  • Aprons preferred
  • USB memory/flash stick – recommended size 2GB
  • Biros (preferably blue and black ink), pencils, eraser.
  • Ring binder folder/s and plastic sleeves or other types of folders to store own workbooks and other work material

Block days and times:  Monday – Friday 9.00am to 4:00pm


To gain this qualification, students must successfully complete 12 units: 6 core and 6 electives

Not all electives available at all campuses

ABSTUDY: This program is an ABSTUDY approved course.  Students who qualify may be eligible for Away From Base assistance (travel, accommodation and meals) to attend study blocks at the approved location. Students must be in receipt of an ABSTUDY benefit and provide their ABSTUDY evidence before attending the first study block.
