This course meets the requirements for application to obtain a licence in Qld as a Trade Contractor including QBCC Trade Contractor's licence. Course delivery is online and covers the following topics: Identify and comply with regulatory legal, taxation and insurance requirements; assess and manage risks which the business may be exposed to; and negotiate and  arrange contracts relevant to business operations. Entry requirements

Course Entry Requirements
It is highly recommended that students have previously completed a trade level qualification in carpentry or bricklaying. It is also recommended you have sufficient levels of literacy and numeracy to work with written and electronic texts, as this will be required to successfully participate in and complete this program.

Enrolment Entry Requirements
Entry into this program is via direct enrolment for students who meet the course entry requirements detailed above. Students who do not have building or construction industry experience must speak with the teacher to discuss suitability and enrol in this program.

This course is funded by Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ), there are a number of requirements that need to be met to access this funding. CSQ funded and subsidised courses are for existing, and eligible workers in the building and construction industry. To help guide you on what the requirements are and what evidence you will need to provide there is an Eligibility kit below under "Relevant Documents". No specific resources are required to successfully complete this course.

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

Timetable

This program is delivered online, a minimum of at least 3 hours per week, plus additional time to complete research and assessments will be required to complete this course. Tutorial will be held Tuesday nights from 5:00pm - 9:00pm in Townsville and Cairns.

Payment Plan

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.

Subsidised

The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.

Concession

You are eligible for the concession price of a course if you are eligible for subsidised training, and are listed on an Australian Government Low Income Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, if you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, you hold a Department of Veterans' Affairs Pensioner Concession Card, or if you have a disability.
