Entry requirements

A sound achievement in Year 10 Science, Maths, and English is desirable.

You are required to register your interest in this course with VET Co-ordinator at your High School.You must have successfully completed year 10 (or equivalent), or have relevant experience and/or qualifications that indicate likely success in completing the course.

Resources required

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

Additionally, a USB and a calculator is required.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in many tourism and travel industry sectors and for a diverse range of employers including travel agencies, tour wholesalers, tour operators, attractions, cultural and heritage sites, and any small tourism business.

Possible job titles include:

  • documentation clerk for a tour wholesaler or travel agency
  • museum attendant
  • office assistant for a tour operator
  • receptionist and office assistant for a professional conference organiser or event management business
  • receptionist and office assistant in a travel agency
