Explore the variety of acrylic paint, collage and mixed techniques involved in abstract painting in this workshop aimed at both beginners and experienced painters. While investigating the nature of materials in a hands-on manner, you will learn to explore conceptual ideas through experimental techniques and abstract approaches.

Participants will work on resolving a small body of artwork including small-scale collages and a larger canvas painting. Learn from experienced lecturer and Cairns-based artist Jacqueline Scotcher whose own work investigates tropical landscapes and human connections to the natural environment.

The completion of the course will arm participants with a toolbox of techniques to incorporate into their creative practice along with a deeper understanding of the qualities and diversities of the painting medium. This course will be reinforcing and extending on approaches explored in the previous Abstract Mixed-media Painting short course.  Both continuing and new students are encouraged to enrol in this course.
