Learn the art of blacksmithing

This short course is an introduction to blacksmithing. This course will teach students how to understand metals and read temperatures. Students will also learn how to draw, bend, shape and form steel into useful objects such as tools and art.

Resources required

Students will be required to wear the following:

  • Cotton drill long pants
  • Cotton drill long sleeved shirts
  • Steel capped safety boots
  • Safety glasses


Cairns campus: This course is delivered Tuesday evenings for 6 weeks, 6pm - 9pm. 


This is a non accredited course. Students will receive a statement of attendance.
