Entry requirements

Study at TAFE Queensland North

Enrolment is open to anyone over the age of 16, regardless of educational background. Some courses do have specific entry requirements which are listed with the course details of each qualification.

You can find a full list of course information by searching here.

Your acceptance into a course is subject to:

  • sufficient enrolments in the class
  • pre-requisites and other entry requirements being met
  • enrolment fees being finalised at the time of enrolment

Full-time diploma

Full time applications should be made through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC). QTAC will notify you of the outcome of your application.

If you have missed the QTAC deadline, you may apply directly to TAFE Queensland North.

Application forms are available at all TAFE Queensland North Customer Service Centres.

Once you are accepted into a course you must then complete the enrolment process.

Standard entry to part-time Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses

Successful completion of Year 12 in Queensland or its interstate or international equivalent or mature age entry is a requirement for standard entry to part-time Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses.

In most instances a completed Certificate II, III or IV qualification will also allow entry into Diploma or Advanced Diploma level courses.

Mature age entry

Where the applicants do not meet the standard entry requirements but their age and experience indicate a reasonable chance of success in a course, they may be offered a place.
